Indianapolis Relics - Station 18
This used to be the IFD firehouse #18 on W. Washington Street and Tibbs Avenue. My grandfather spent much of his 30+ year career as an Indianapolis firefighter here. I remember as a small child playing on the fire engines and even have a picture of me fitting between the bumper and the truck. My grandfather never really used to tell stories about his job as a fireman, but did share some anecdotes of having to make frequent stops to the nearby, now defunct Central State Hospital...False calls resultant of the psych patients pulling the alarms.

I love that the graffiti says "Drat!" I imagine a proper British lady up there with a spray can.
She must really get around because I've seen a few these same taggings around the west side of Indy.
