Mmm, Cupcakes

Cupcake shops seem to becoming quite ubiquitous these day.  Sporting views of fire escapes, neon signs, tree lined streets, and the Empire State Building, Little Cupcake Bakeshop features an orgasmic urban view.  Being the pastry fan that I am, you definitely won’t receive any laments here, I do however, wish more decent donut spots were around.

Drunken Raccoon

I can just imagine Ralph and Norton staggering on back to Brooklyn at 3AM in their raccoon hats. Nothing like a little Honeymooners humor... Taken in Tribeca, Manhattan.

Liquor Lit Tree

There’s nothing quite like neon signs at night, and this one has the added bonus of lighting a winterized tree.  Taken on Roebling Street, near the Williamsburg Bridge on the Brooklyn side.

Mess in front of the Diner

Nothing contributes to the feel of a gritty urban scene like steam coming up from the street.  Construction is occurring in front of the Pear Diner; located on Pearl Street in the Financial District and near the Seaport of Lower Manhattan.

Cafeteria

Taken in the same general vicinity of previous post, hole in the wall diners and vintage (or made to look vintage) neon signs always garner my attention.

Roxanne, Red, and Raw

Does Roxanne go wandering about the Bowery? Is this the proverbial red light to be put out? Or maybe I'm just shamelessly trying to interject 1970's pop culture into this post? Well anyway, here's a grainy, gritty, and retro shot featuring a red neon sign. Taken in the Bowery, Manhattan.
