An Entire Viaduct...Re-Packaged

The renovation of the Culver Viaduct in Southern Brooklyn is still in progress.  Here are a few random trivia items about this location:

1. This is the highest spot in elevation in the New York Transit system.

2. If you’ve seen the Goodfellas, this is location, towards the end of the film where Robert De Niro offers Lorraine Bracco some articles of clothing before she freaks out and runs…

The Hangout

There are so many places to hangout in NYC.  This is my type of place; upon first glance, under the Gowanus expressway in Red Hook may not look like a pleasant place, but bear with me as I lay it out for you.  There are no drunk yuppies, no snarky hipsters, no tourists, no panhandlers, its free, and everyone minds their own business here.  Oh, and this my hangout, go get your own! ;)

The Corner of Red, Green, and Grey

Taken at the corner of Bedford and Myrtle, a street corner in my neighborhood in Brooklyn.  Bedford avenue is an arterial in the area that carries quite a bit of traffic.

Purves, Dykes, Rubber...Made Here

Now where did my mind wonder off to today?  Isn’t it obvious?  Jackson and Purves in Long Island City, Queens to be exact.  Anyone really think I would be so sophomoric as to assign innuendos to this photograph?  That’s a rhetorical question…Please don’t answer that ;)

Bummer on the Commute

Inquiry; will a rapture result in a less crowded commute? Second inquiry; is the Koolaid Man one of the horsemen of the apocalypse? Cyanotic, sugary beverage anyone? OH YEEEAHH!

A sample of the architecture that is prevalent in the Bedford Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn, the area of the city in which I live.  This shot was taken near Bedford and Lafayette.

After-market Landlordery

I once rented from a landlord that made 'enhancements' to the facilities that makes this resemble space age engineering by comparison. Taken on Washington Street in the West Village neighborhood of Lower Manhattan.
