Native to Newtown Creek, this fish, the Graffitus Anoxicus has made many leaps over the decades an can now survive in concrete.  Taken under the Pulaski Bridge on the Queens side.

The Wicked Witch of the Mosquito Metropolis

From the looks of the tires, they appear to be in decent shape; I hope the mosquito larvae appreciates them.  Taken under the Pulaski Bridge on the Queens side.

It all looks so small from here, the body of water below is Newtown Creek, which is not even a creek at all, but a tidal estuary that partially separates the boroughs of Brooklyn and Queens.  Even though it isn’t immediately evident here, this is one of the most heavily polluted body of water in the county.

Pedal to the Floor...Bring It, Pulaski!

Coming on Newtown Creek, leaving Brooklyn and entering Queens, on the Pulaski Bridge.  The bridge was completed in 1954 and was named after the American Revolutionary War commander Casimir Pulaski.  The skyline of the Queens neighborhood, Long Island City is seen in the distance.
