Transportation Sandwich

 (The foot of the Hellgate bridge and the Astoria-Ditmars Blvd Subway Station in Queens)

A nice tasty transportation sandwich in on the menu here in Astoria.  Fixings include 31st Street on the bottom, N and Q Trains in the middle, and topped with Amtrak.  New York and many other cities along the Eastern Corridor frequently enjoy similar sandwiches, if only the entire country would develop a taste for them.

A Sun Sets on Queens

A beautiful sunset descending upon the city as I left from a late day at work, luckily, I decided to bring my camera along.  Racing the sunset through Astoria and Long Island City using the N Train to gain different perspectives is only one of the things I will do to get my photographs.

Traffic in Astoria

Taken through dirty windows of a subway train, an equally dirty lens, and I forgot the the autofocus was turned of.  In spite of all this, it came out pretty well.

31st Street Surreal Lights and Rail

Low horizon, winter lighting always delivers interesting photos. These photographs were taken on 31st Street, between Astoria and Ditmars Blvd in Queens.

An old interlocking/signal station that is still standing, a much more substantial one is now over at the terminus station by Ditmars.

The N route which runs on the BMT Broadway Line runs through the boroughs of Queens Manhattan and Brooklyn in New York City. The N Route's rolling stock of newer R160B trains, which are quite advanced and provides a smoother, more comfortable ride...
