Scenes from the City-County Building Observation Deck

On the 28th floor of Indianapolis' City-County Building is a time machine to 1960's, know as it's observation deck... I took my 250mm lens up there for some shots of areas around downtown.

The service elevator drops you off here; the 26th floor. You then catch another elevator to the 28th floor.


It has probably looked this way since 1962, they year the building was constructed...


The industrial south east part of town; I am rather proud of this shot; I highly recommend you view this large on black. You may click the image to do so.

Christmas in Indianapolis

Make Way!

DPW was showing off its new fleet of snow plow trucks around lunchtime on Thursday. I briefly imagined them as Soviet tanks on parade, demonstrating our snow removal superiority and readiness.

Hot asphalt...Not much like snow at all, but its close proximity to the snow vehicles make it an accomplice.

Downtown Christmas Decor

It's the holiday season in Indianapolis again, and that means lots of seasonal lighting. The Friday night after Thanksgiving known as the circle of lights, is a long standing Indianapolis tradition. I decided to scope it out late at night, because I wasn't feeling up to being among a really large crowd that night.

The first night of lighting for the 2008 Holiday Season.

Friday night is always a good time on the Circle; there's so much to do. You can walk to surrounding places and get something to eat, shop in near by stores, people watch, see a performance, or do what I did: order a hot chocolate and take pictures.

It's getting dark, and as you can see, the conversion into "The World's Largest Christmas Tree" is underway.
