Running with the Cars
I frequently see people walking or jogging in bike or lanes and I can’t seem to help but think how ridiculously idiotic they look. I can only speculate that their reason for engaging in this behavior is that they believe that all the people walking on the sidewalks will slow them down, even in an industrial ghost town stretch of street such as this. I can get annoyed with cyclist that don’t follow traffic rules, ride on the sidewalks, endanger pedestrians, etc, but I’m in their corner on this one; and when this pedestrian has to have some fixie’s handlebars surgically removed from their rectum, perhaps in time they will change their behavior.

Beneath the BQE
The Brooklyn-Queens Expressway cuts a huge, noisy, antiquated, and congested swath through the boroughs the bare its name. Seeing as I don’t drive it regularly, or even own a car for that matter, I have very little use for the aging infrastructure. Well, with one exception, the photos I take of it. These photos were taken on Park Avenue, under the BQE, in the Clinton Hill area of Brooklyn, and near the Navy Yard.

Icy Walk along New Utrect Avenue
My photographic documentation of the city tend to slow to the crawl during winter months. I find it difficult to muster the motivation to squeeze in time for a photographic section during inclimate weather, but something had to give, and it occurred on a windy, 18 degree, February day. This walk took place on New Utrect Avenue in the Borough Park section of Brooklyn.

190
The 190th Street station near Washington Heights in Upper Manhattan is one of the deeper (but not the deepest) in the subway system…
