Actually older cars like that are pretty easy to hotwire. It may not look pretty but to someone who needs a ride ( or a get-away car!) it looks pretty attractive.
I suppose your right; I know someone who had their mid 80's Chevrolet Celebrity stolen right out of her driveway...
