Good Ol' Rust

Although much of this part of the trail is industrial in nature, not all of it is. Here are some shots from the communities along the trail.

I love the cobblestone street. What an unexpected find!

I'm guessing that's 20th St? There are a couple of really well preserved brick roads in this area. 17th might be the best, as it goes for 6 or 8 blocks. I think there's a stretch of Yandes that's still bricked as well.

The quality of the brick roads remaining in Martindale-Brightwood make the preserved stretch of 10th St. in St. Joseph look like a joke.

Amazing what decades of neglecting a neighborhood can "preserve"!

The cobblestone street is in fact 20th street and are in significanly better shape than the ones in St. Joseph, but I think the ones in the Irish Hill area are even better preserved; also a product of decades of neglect...

You may have missed my post on the Monon last year.

Last time I was on the trail, I noticed the sign for the stables of the Polk Milk building was missing. I hope they are only repairing it.

I remember seeing your post now that you remided me of it. I missed the sign, but I always walk past your 'dwell' house on my way to the trail from home. My 20th Street shot is eerily similar to yours; looks like it was shot from the same angle :)
