Through the Ties

I spy a traffic signal and some freehand on the third rail that resemble an eyeglasses prescription.  Taken from the Ft. Hamilton Avenue Station along the BMT West End Line (D Train) in Brooklyn.

Triplets

Taken at the corner of Washington and College on the near east side of downtown Indianapolis, along the Pennsylvania Railroad viaduct.  The area of Washington Street has seen recent reconstruction.

Chicago Rail Yard Skywalk

Roosevelt Road traverses a massive rail yard; seen from a spacewalk like perspective. This was taken from the Willis Tower, but this yard is on the near south side of Chicago.

I wanted to use the extreme height (and distance from the surface) of the Willis tower observation deck and combine it with the inversion to give the shot a space walk feel. Imagine if you are walking on the surface of the moon or the hull of a ship orbiting Earth; this would be the perspective. This is the first time I've ever experimented with this concept and still don't know what to make of it.

Alone in Irish Hill

Formerly a working class Irish neighborhood on the near east side of Indianapolis, Irish hill is now no more than a ghost town where colonies of homeless people live under viaducts, much of it has returned to nature, or is populated with abandoned industrial buildings. Being so close to the Eli Lilly complex, Fountain Square, and Fletcher Place, I wonder if this area has a new urban future.

Nostalgia...Bitter Cold

I recall taking this shot, it was that viaduct over Pleasant Run near Christian Park in Indianapolis. The air was like ice, and my frozen fingers struggled to depress the camera shutter. Its now summer and the sweaty beads of reminiscence brings its appeal forth. Every year, I complain about every season, begging for the next one to make the scene...Repeat.

Industrial Indianapolis IV

Yeah Yeah Yeah, the Citizen's Gas and Coke plant yet again...What can I say, I like to photograph this place. This was shot from the Prospect Street entrance, right by Un-Pleasant Run.

Near the corner of Sherman and Michigan...

On South Rural Street, just a little south of Washington Street...

Fountain Square Bound I and II

These two shot are of the same bridge on Prospect Street at Pleasant Run, looking toward Fountain Square... I posted both shots because I couldn't decide which one I like more.
I recently began using a plugin for Flickr that allows me to link to large copies of my images with colored backgrounds. To use this, click the link below the image; you may continue to visit the image's Flickr page for Geotagging, ect by clicking on the image itself.

Washington...College...Viaduct

UPDATE: Flickr has been having some intermittent issues since yesterday evening, if the images fail to load, please try back in a few minutes...

Looking toward Washington and College...This viaduct runs along the east and south ends of downtown. Pogue's Run, a small naturally occurring waterway, that is now sequestered in a sewer follows under much this viaduct.
