Blue Sky Astoria

My 10mm wide angle lens has been sitting idle for way too long.  I began to image it pleading from my gear bag, "please take me to Queens with you".  My options were to either  (a). grab the lens or (b). seek the services of a psychiatrist.  Option (a) was decidedly the more economic and convenient choice.  So here is my blue sky neuroleptic substitute for today, a scene from 31st Street in Astoria.

The Never Ending Hustle

I suppose, no matter the activity, there are always ways to innovate and increase productivity.  I find myself wondering size of her (and many others I see) rake.  Depending on how efficiently she can collect in an hour’s time, several times a week, she could very well have a more stable (tax-free, straight cash homey) income than the freelancing efforts of yours truly.   Taken in Little Italy.

Horizontal Stripes: Do’s and Don’ts

I will be the first to admit that I am not exactly a fashionable guy.  I'm a person that keeps identical copies of the same (usually black in color) outfit for efficiency's sake.

There is however, one thing I do know.  The slender guy on the left can pull off horizontal stripes, the hefty gentleman on the right, cannot.  As a man who is somewhat circumferentially challenged, the fact that horizontal stripes add multiple reference points to your unflattering curves is instinctual.  Then again, the sweat pants is highly indicative that he probably doesn't, in fact, give a shit.

If you are that person that wears horizontal stripes and shouldn’t and you still choose to ignore my plea, have a dose of color inversion.

Yeah, thought so.

God Made me Queer

When walking along, look down, sometimes you come across a treat.  As seen next to a spent cigarette butt on a Bushwick crosswalk.

Icy Walk along New Utrect Avenue

My photographic documentation of the city tend to slow to the crawl during winter months.  I find it difficult to muster the motivation to squeeze in time for a photographic section during inclimate weather, but something had to give, and it occurred on a windy, 18 degree, February day.  This walk took place on New Utrect Avenue in the Borough Park section of Brooklyn.

Come On, Lets Go

A dog waits patiently as his owner spends an extended amount of time giving attention to his other pet.  Taken on Smith Street, near Bergen in the Boerum/Cobble Hill area of Brooklyn.

You Be the Sun

As fun as it would be to be a large ball of fusion reactions, if I were the sun, I would kill everything and everyone in my presence. And while I'm being completely literal here, I can't seem to place this quote with Gandhi. If anyone can confirm my (in)correctness I would be much appreciative!

Drugs! Drugs! Drugs!

I’ve been so busy lately that I haven’t been able to do any new photography in quite a while, so here is a stock photo taken from early spring in Greenwich Village.  I’ve been fiending for a shot of something lately, with my camera that is.

Alien Caviar and Chained Bikes

My street is not always pretty, but its always interesting.  The creator of this piece is a street artist that goes by Willow.  This shot was taken a few doors down from my own apartment in Brooklyn.

Screwed the Rodent

This is but a tiny one, unlike the ferret-sized, one that ran across my feet this evening on my way home from the subway... I assure you, it was already dead when I found it, in the Financial District; where much larger rats run freely in human form.

Coming into Coney Island

I am, not the train…  A candid sidewalk scene along Stillwell Avenue, in Coney Island Brooklyn.  I offer my apologies for the thin posting frequency as of late, I’ve been quite busy.

"You Know When I Drink Alone, I Prefer to be by Myself"

Poor Georgie; I guess even his dear old granddad has forsaken him. Mr. Thorogood was seen hanging solo on Smith Street in Boerum Hill, a neighborhood in Downtown Brooklyn.

Best if viewed large.
