Industrial Indianapolis 3

It turns out I do have enough industrial material to make this a monthly thing...

On Kentucky Avenue, all with close proximity to the LOS...

The rear of the structure previously pictured...Yes, they misspelled parking....

The chain link fence, an industrial ubiquity:
On Shelby Street
Back on Kentucky Avenue...

Oh, and Cinder blocks too...

I love the rusty colors of this place...

Off of West street, many of these old industrial building are currently being reused...

I was shocked that some of the really old warehouse structures in this area (like the ones in the first couple pictures) weren't razed for parking when LOS opened.

I drive around this area every once in a while to imagine what it was like when things were booming around there. Let's be honest, though, cool as these are to look at, a lot of these structures will never be reuse candidates for any purpose.

I agree on the practical usefulness of many of these buildings. Many of the ones that could be reused already have, but the ones toward the top of the post, could probably never be reused in a practical manner. When the economy improves, I'm sure that development will revisit this area, and hopefully, will be anything except surface level parking...

It was a treat to stumble onto these photos. For the past couple of years I've had a dream of finding an old building in SW Indy -- like the "600 Kentucky Ave" warehouse at the bottom of your post -- that could be converted with "sweat-equity" into a dojo for hardcore martial artists. All it would really need is solid floors, walls, ceiling, and working electrical and plumbing ...

Beautiful stuff! It keeps my hopes alive!
