Illinois and McCarty

I always like to start a show with a bang, but this entrance to Indianapolis has other plans...

in the introduction to one of Kurt Vonnegut's books he mentions that his father (grandfather?) was an architect that had the job of designing buildings for utility companies. I always wondered if this substation was the Vonnegut design. There are other similar substations still standing in town.

I'm not really sure on the history of them, but so many unsightly substations around town could use this kind of love.
