10th and Dearborn

I took some shots of E. 10th Street this weekend with this intersection as the focal point. I went out in the early hours to make use of the morning lighting. Most of these shots have quite a bit of detail to them and are much better if viewed large.

The Rivoli was built in 1927 and is rumored to be haunted...

Cuidado

Looking at a bridge over Pleasant Run, near Keystone and Churchman in the Fountain Square South area. I chose this for today's post because I remember taking this shot on a nice 80 degree summer day.

The Stutz

Automobiles were once manufactured here back when Indianapolis was the first 'Motor City' in the early 20th century. Located at the corner of 10th and Capitol...

These two have detail that is best if viewed large...

Can't Fight City Hall

...But you can vacate it ;) I have decided to post an Indianapolis Historic Structure oriented post every day this week. The old City Hall building(built 1910) is today's feature; it has been at one time, a location for the Indiana State Museum and the Indianapolis/Marion County Central Library.

Crappy Graffiti

I love looking at and photographing good street art and graffiti, but these are neither. These both on the south side, and provide me a chance to pawn off some of my useless pop culture prowess ;)

"He's never early, he's never late...The one thing you know is you always gotta wait"...Bonus points to who can identify that song.

Taken near the corner of Union and Morris.

OMG, they stimulated Kenny!!!
Taken along the Pleasant Run Trail, near Shelby Street.

Pennsylvania and St. Clair

I haven't used my telephoto lens in quite a while, so I decided to take a few shots with it in front of the Central Library...

Make Way!

DPW was showing off its new fleet of snow plow trucks around lunchtime on Thursday. I briefly imagined them as Soviet tanks on parade, demonstrating our snow removal superiority and readiness.

Hot asphalt...Not much like snow at all, but its close proximity to the snow vehicles make it an accomplice.
Shots 1 and 2 are better if viewed large...

Talbott/Pennsylvania and Morris

This section is not too far from the Sacred Heart area on the south side.

This mural runs from Talbott all the way to Madison...

Illinois and McCarty

I always like to start a show with a bang, but this entrance to Indianapolis has other plans...

An architecturally distinct power substation...

The Culmination of Massachusetts, Highland, and Brookside at east 10th Street.

Looking at the Circle City Industrial Complex that sits at the large intersection...
