Thanks! My experience with selective coloring is kind of limited, so this is one of my first few attempts.

I notice you shoot with an XSi. It's on the shortlist of dslrs that I'm looking at. Do you like yours? Any lens recommendations? Thanks! :)

I've owned my XSi for about six months now, and I really enjoy using it. At my current skill level, it’s quite accommodating with the ability to manually set many different options. My only real beef with the camera is the auto focusing performance of the included kit lens, which is a little slow (especially in low light). The kit comes with an 18-55mm lens, which is great for regular shooting, but the 55-250mm telephoto lens is always fun to play with as well.

Thanks for the info! The results I've seen from the Canons have me strongly leaning to the XSi. The bad part is that lenses are like potato chips (very expensive potato chips), you can't have just one.
